I recently became a proud owner of a Blendtec blender. For those who aren’t familiar with said device, it’s a crazy do-it-all machine. I can make flour out of rice, purée baby food, and even hot soup. My main use for it was to start whole juicing.
I stocked up on a bunch of fruits and veggies. Little did I know I would also be stocking up on annoying little fruit flies. I truly despise these things and any bug that ruins my food. I searched around for a quick homemade cure.
Homemade Fruit Fly MurderTrap
2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (red wine vinegar will work too)
1 tbsp dish soap
Place the contents into a skinny and tall contraption, I used a bud vase. Other ideas; double shot glass, empty beer bottle, a small mason jar. Place the trap near their preferred gathering space.
The gnats are attracted the sweetness of the vinegar but are trapped to their death by the soap (can you tell I enjoyed this?)
Take that fruit flies! That’ll teach you for the pastries you ruined.
